Become a Friend of Hawthorne (maybe the below bullet points should be moved to homepage and we just start this page with info from flyer)
Together We Rise Up to create successful and engaged students by:
Supporting Teachers
Purchasing classroom and school supplies from copy paper to new library books to paint for the art room
Funding support staff positions like Math and Reading Interventionists and increased hours for our School Counselor
Providing in-school programs like Space Between (mindfulness) and anti-bullying workshops
Celebrating them with appreciation activities such as First Friday Breakfasts and Teacher Appreciation Week
Finding volunteers for school events like Academic Night, the all school music performance and Field Day
Connecting Families
Hosting the annual Back to School BBQ to celebrate the new school year and meet new families
Organizing PTA meetings that provide social activities like the cookie swap and board game night and potlucks
Supporting cultural programming including the annual Dia do los Muertos celebration and Multicultural Night
Sponsoring events that give volunteers a common cause like Bike/Walk to School Day
NOTE: I really like the look of your flyer and want this page to better resemble its general flow and design as much as possible.
Anyone who cares about Hawthorne students can become a Friend of Hawthorne - families, friends, neighbors, community members. There are two main pathways to becoming a Friend of Hawthorne and you can choose one or both - whatever works best for you! All Friends of Hawthorne can participate in FOH sponsored activities and receive Hawthorne swag and business discounts.
How do we handle one-time vs. monthly donations? Wouldn’t the total amount given affect the benefits?
Ignite: coupon for a free drink/item at local coffee shop and Hawthorne tote bag
Rise: coupon book for discounts at local businesses and Hawthorne MiiR tumbler
Soar: coupon book for discounts at local business, Hawthorne tote bag and Hawthorne MiiR tumbler
Donors have the option of selecting to become a registered PTA member. If chosen, $15 of the donation will be used to pay PTA dues.
We need to discuss if we want to try the spreadsheet of volunteer opportunities again or organize them into event calendar links and ways to help now/help later with a committee
I think stay connected should be moved to the webpage footer so it is on every page:
Stay connected through our newsletter and WhatsApp chat to hear about volunteer opportunities and keep in touch with our community.
