Friends of Hawthorne meetings are open to anyone who cares about Hawthorne students - families, friends, neighbors, community members, anyone! Children are welcome and free childcare is provided for our in-person meetings.

In general, FOH meets monthly and alternates between general membership meetings and business meetings.

General membership meetings

• Held at Hawthorne in the cafeteria or library

• Begin with dinner and/or a social activity to allow time to connect and meet other Hawthorne families

• Short business agenda featuring:

  • Updates on FOH and Hawthorne activities

  • Votes requiring membership approval - all meeting attendees can vote!

  • New business and ideas where we seek info and input from the Hawthorne community

Business meetings 

• Held online

• Business agenda focused on:

  • Required PTA and non-profit filings and reports

  • PTA admin items like insurance requirements

  • Future activity and meeting logistics

FOH meetings are listed on the events calendar and are publicized in the weekly Hawthorne newsletter.

The FOH Board will meet in November.

The next FOH gathering will be a family board game night on Tuesday, December 9th at 6pm. Currently there is no planned business agenda.
