Dance Party with DJ Miguel Rockwell! Come boogie down with your kiddo. Grades 3 - 5 from 12:15 - 1pm. Grade K-2 from 1 - 1:45pm.

The all-school musical performance is Monday, May 12th featuring hits from Motown.
Grades K-2: arrive at 5:15 for a 5:30pm performance
Grade 3-5: arrive at 6:30 for a 6:45pm performance
May is Bike, Walk and Roll to school month. Join with other Hawthorne families as we walk and bike to school together on Wednesday, May 7th. SDOT will provide prizes for students and coffee will be provided by Onda Origins.

Support Hawthorne Elementary and all 17 elementary, K-8, and middle schools in Southeast Seattle during the annual Move-a-Thon fundraising drive this spring!
Friends of Hawthorne (FoH) is thrilled to be participating in the Southeast Seattle Schools Fundraising Alliance to raise money for Hawthorne Elementary and more than 6,700 public school students in Southeast Seattle. At Hawthorne Elementary, we are celebrating the Move-a-Thon on Friday April 4th, where every student will have an opportunity to move their bodies, play, have fun, and support their community.
WHAT IS THE MOVE-A-THON? At Hawthorne Elementary, every student is invited to dance, play, move, and have fun- this will happen in a special P.E. rotation for all students on Friday April 4th. The Move-A-Thon is also a fundraiser! Students and their families can ask neighbors, friends, and family members to donate any amount of money to support our coalition of schools. It’s fun to create a personal fundraising pagethrough SESSFA to share with your supporters!

Monthly playground work parties are back the first Sunday of each month from 9am - 1pm. Join us on March 2nd for Demolition Day! Help us clear out the old garden retaining walls and wooden platform. We need sledgehammers and crowbars and trucks to haul items to the transfer station. Please wear gloves, sturdy clothes, closed-toe shoes and safety glasses. Sign up here!
