Hawthorne Robotics Club

What is it?

This program is based on the FIRST Lego League Jr and LEGO WeDo which is targeted at students age 6 to 10. Members will participate in small groups, or teams, of 3 to 5, building Lego structures and programming them using a simple graphical programming language. Each group will have a parent coach. After four or five meetings students will start on a project, this year called Aqua Adventure where the students will work as a team to learn about the subject.

XBOT Robotics (at Franklin Highschool) has loaned us six WeDo sets.

We will be able to provide some transportation to or from the meetings if needed.

How to Join, more information

We will take the first 20 kids who register for each club. After that we'll form a waitlist. If your child is interested, please register with Dave Schumacher: daveschu00@gmail.com, 206-856-9569.  He'll need their name, age and guardian contact information.

Volunteer \ Donate

This club is being lead by volunteers and the number of students that can participate is limited by how many parents are able to participate. Please let Dave know if you can volunteer to be a parent coach.  You would need to be present for club meetings, and run through the project once before the each club meeting.  Children of parents who are volunteering will get priority.
